We’re devoted to helping our patients regain their confidence and functionality with their smiles. Dentures offer a time-tested solution for those who have lost one or more teeth, enabling them to eat, speak, and smile with ease. Let’s delve into the world of dentures, exploring what they are, their benefits, and the process involved in getting them.

What are Dentures?

Dentures are removable prosthetic devices designed to replace missing teeth and are supported by the surrounding soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity. They come in two main types: complete dentures and partial dentures.

Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain. Dentures can be a practical and cost-effective alternative to dental implants, and modern advances in dentistry have made today’s dentures more comfortable and natural-looking than ever before.

How Dentures Help

Missing teeth can present numerous challenges, from difficulty chewing food to a lack of confidence when smiling.

Dentures can address these concerns by:
  1. Restoring Your Smile: Dentures can replace missing teeth, bringing back the natural charm of your smile.

  2. Improving Speech and Eating: Missing teeth can affect your ability to pronounce certain words correctly and can hinder proper chewing. Dentures can help improve both these aspects, enhancing your quality of life.

  3. Preserving Facial Structure: Dentures provide support for the lips and cheeks, preventing them from sagging and helping maintain your facial structure.

  4. Boosting Self-Esteem: By restoring your smile, dentures can give a significant boost to your self-confidence and comfort in social situations.

The Process

Getting dentures involves a process that is designed to ensure the best fit and appearance.

Dr. Ash will begin by determining what type of dentures are most suitable for you, depending on the number of teeth missing and their location. Then, impressions or molds of your mouth will be made to ensure the dentures will fit precisely.

These impressions are sent to a dental laboratory, where the dentures are crafted. Once ready, you’ll have a fitting appointment where any necessary adjustments will be made to ensure a comfortable fit and natural appearance. Dr. Ash will also provide instructions on how to clean and care for your dentures to ensure their longevity.
